Ramble...ramble....ramble...

omg.-->>.. \_()_/..<<--.So  Cute.... anyway,  so  I've been thinking about family and why the bloody hell we tolerate and expose our tender egos to them even when we know they will do naught but harm us.

When I think of those "glass house" people, I picture various members of the family. They are exceptionally hard on outsiders and don't understand the idea that some folks just think differently. They are completely egocentric and ethnocentric and painfully prickly in temperament. If somethings goes wrong in their lives then the world owes them for its abhorrent cruelty--as no suffering should ever come upon them in their holiest perfection. In reality they're just ridiculous little crows.

They're intelligent enough to be above some, which convinces them that they must be brilliant enough to be above all others. They work themselves to death in menial jobs and get rather upset with anyone who has the audacity to waste time enjoying life (especially if the  enjoyer has children). If you place a value on another species that prevents you from willingly consuming that species murdered bodies, then you have your priorities screwed up. If you refuse to drop forty bucks on a pair of boots which your teen-with-12-pairs-of-shoes thinks look great on her, then you are a piss-poor parent.

If another family member feels that he or she is being judged too harshly for his or her own shortcomings, then that person will squarely place the blame  for failure in life on you, the outsider. The glass housers will even borrow things like 300 dollar cameras and spend years swearing they've lost it in their bedroom while being pissed off every time you ask it be returned. I've yet to figure out why these individuals seem to think others of us need to be informed of our detriment to our immediate family. We are not made simply worthless, no, that would be too high a platform for us to occupy; instead we are so deeply devalued that we qualify as the thing which brings ruin.

It's dreadful, but we continue subjecting ourselves to it for the sake of the few who would us grant a higher standing--provided it does not require them having to face down the glass housers on our behalf. And so you skulk away, battered, sobbing, and questioning if  you will be able to remain in this family, or if this is an omen foretelling your departure. Hmmm....we shall see......
