Ramble...ramble....ramble...

omg.-->>.. \_()_/..<<--.So  Cute.... anyway,  so  I've been thinking about family and why the bloody hell we tolerate and expose our tender egos to them even when we know they will do naught but harm us.

When I think of those "glass house" people, I picture various members of the family. They are exceptionally hard on outsiders and don't understand the idea that some folks just think differently. They are completely egocentric and ethnocentric and painfully prickly in temperament. If somethings goes wrong in their lives then the world owes them for its abhorrent cruelty--as no suffering should ever come upon them in their holiest perfection. In reality they're just ridiculous little crows.

Praise be to ye gods that....

that simply dreadful Christmas thing is over. It does precious little "in house" other than remind people like me of just how finantially troubled, misunderstood, undervalued, and horribly tender skinned we really are. So, to better prepare for the coming year, I have made my offerings. Oh, and I have also developed one serious grrring at the local misshappen Catholic Church--no, I'm not Catholic--they do not hold a midnight mass for Christmas....what's up with that? I was really looking forward to going to it :(

Taking leave...

...of my senses!
Nah, but I will be seriously neglecting my blogs (yes, all three) until after finals.

New blog news!!!

I dropped "My Pretty Excuses" blog because I didn't like it so very much. However, I have added a new one. "At Least 100 Words Baked Fresh Daily" is the new one which is devoted to motivating me to write at least 100 words per day of new material. We perfect our arts, gifts, and talents through the pursuit of their perfections...correct? The longer works and those for school will still be posted on "These Words Etched In Dust", and I may consider adding my forced essays for my classes to that one...maybe. But, my rambling bits of opinionated nonsense can still be found here. Anyway....both new and old can be reached by clicking on those buttons over there -->

Blarghhhh....

Perhaps I have bitten off a great deal more than I can reasonably masticate.
I have six classes right now: British Lit I, World Lit I, Creative Writing, College Algebra, Humanities I, and Intro to Sociology. And it's not like I do poorly in those classes, last I checked, I had an A average in all but math. Beyond all of that, I also work: in the library at night (a job I love), as a tutor between classes (also a job I love), and at Little Caesar's on the weekends (a job that I used to love).
I am now very reasonably exhausted, so one would think I had perhaps learned my lesson on pushing myself to my breaking point. Nope, not so much. I an currently signed up for eight classes for the rapidly approaching spring semester. One of those (Fundamentals of Education) I will definitely be dropping. The other seven: British Lit II, World Lit II, American Lit II, Women's Lit, Voice for Performance, Walk-Jog-Run, and Aerobics I will still be taking. Obviously, I have learned nothing.

Bark damnit!

No, I'm not racist, I'm a self-loathing speciest!
Prepare thyself...this be a ranting moment.......................

So, have you ever been driving to no where in particular and your sweet and innocent little car suddenly starts emitting these dreadful metallic scraping sounds from beneath it's poor old hood? I have. Sadly, one night it grew silent. As is typical of my Irish luck (my Great Gran was an Irish import, and she liked to reminded all of us that when they referred to the "Luck of the Irish," they were not referring to good luck and "only an American who's had it too good for too long would claim elsewise!") when she (my car, not gran) began to run silent, I knew all was lost. $300+ dollars later, and the mechanic said my darling little Escort was fixed......
........
..............
......................oh no, it doesn't end there.....Irish remember......

Awwww....craptastic....really.

Well, I feel beyond pathetic. I have a friggin' A- in Creative Writing! An A-. Unbefrigginlievable!!!! And the minus is soooo minus that it's literally scraping the line between A- and B+. 90.6! .6 away from a bloody friggin' B, which may as well be an F! Here I was really thinking "this" could be MY thing...nope...not it....which means...what exactly? Well, I suppose it means it's time for me to choose a different concentration for my major. Especially since we're moving into poetry now...and "dramatic" scenes after that! So, there we have it! A double opportunity to smash my head into a friggin' wall!

Oh....and as if all that weren't bad enough, now not only am I supposed to be picking the folks that'll be reading my craptastic poetry, but they will be given an opportunity to choose from we creative writers too! Man am I ever just plain buggered!

I'm going to go sulk now thanks.............................

I LOL...and then it goes "sploink!"

Sooo...
I can breath that ever so heavy sigh of relief...all is well in my world after all...so far as it would seem.
In traditional Le Pew fashion...
Le *sigh*
Ever on, ever on. Darkness sweeps through day and smothers it politely as small children creep about begging for "just ten more minutes". Of time, of life. Of both I think. Ever on, ever on. I, for my part in this silly sweet play, shall wrap myself in words breathed by antiquity and call it "Agamemnon".

And then.....

For the record, I REALLY suck at math. But enough of that.....so, I had a blast in creative writing today. We had to write a semi-collaborative story today. Three groups, three home-grown characters, three totally over-done genres all blended into one tale. Oh if only I could have saved a copy. It was dreadful and amusing and oh so much fun!

Soo0.....

Well, I'm officially two days late on submitting my thesis for The Pillow Book by Sei Shonagon. I decided that I didn't feel comfortable just going with the selection of the Pillow Book that is in my World Lit book, so I bought (had husband buy ^_~ he's soooo fabulous!) a copy of it so I could choose what section to pull from it on my own. I just got the book today, so the thesis proposal should be done by tomorrow. Hopefully. Oh, and I have a MATH test tomorrow...scary stuff...yes-sir.

So much to do...so incredibly little time :{

It's only the second week of the semester and I already feel bogged down. So, here's my list:

  • Research the spotlight effect on the Quilleute nation for Sociology.
  • Do the 84 math word problems that are due on Tuesday.
  • Read ch. 4 in my Humanities book.
  • Read chs. 6-9 in my Creative Writing book.
  • Finish Reading The Epic of Gilgamesh.
  • Revise my essay for Creative Writing.
  • Write my list on the "strange and familiar" of Beowulf. "Bonding Rites"

Oh, and my long term (2 week) goal:
Write a story to go with this intriguing image (which is Copyrighted to Deviant: Be-at)

***Be-at is a member of Deviant Art and has loads of fabulous images that will spark the imagination! For more info CLICK HERE.

So....now this...

I've created this for my randomish ramblings so they will not get jumbled in the mix of my creative writting blog for class.
